Alex, Co-founder
After graduating from Oxford University, Alex started tutoring through law school. Having qualified as a lawyer at one of the leading US law firms in the City, Alex co-founded Pembroke Tutors with Jake.
Through a commitment to only working with a small group of professional tutors i.e. tutors who are committed in the long-term with strong curriculum and subject knowledge, Pembroke has grown into one of the major tuition agencies in London in a relatively short space of time. Trusted by many of the leading prep and senior schools in London.
Jake, Co-founder
After graduating from Oxford University, Jake pursued a career in quantitative trading at a US hedge fund.
He then went on to found Pembroke Tutors with Alex, with the aim of building an agency that works with a small pool of professional tutors who are able to commit long term to their clients. Jake is responsible for running Pembroke’s finance and operations team as well as developing Pembroke’s online product offerings.
Tara, Managing Director
Tara joined Pembroke in February 2023, having worked in the education sector for nearly five years after graduating from Edinburgh University.
Tara has been making a significant impact by supporting families with targeted and tailored educational programmes. With a passion for empowering students and fostering growth, Tara says that Pembroke offers an unparalleled experience. She believes in the power of a small group of highly professional tutors collaborating to deliver exceptional results.
