We support adult learners to achieve their goals whether it’s preparation for a university degree or masters, improving English or learning a foreign language. We appreciate that tutoring adults is very different to tutoring children and teenagers; that’s why we have tutors who specialise in adult learning. Our specialised adult tutors tend to be more mature tutors themselves, and have both excelled in the subject that they tutor with an impressive track record of tutoring adults. We also appreciate that adults are extremely busy, and are often only able to learn in the evenings, lunch times or at the weekend. Our tutors are flexible with when they tutor, and make every effort to fit into their client’s busy schedule.
At Pembroke, we take the time to understand the adult learner’s requirements and the style of tuition that they would prefer; that way we are able to best pair them with a tutor who is a good match on an academic and personal level. From this point, the tutor proposes a plan, setting a clear timeframe to work towards their goals.
For adults preparing to return to university, tuition can give them confidence that their applications will be completed on time and to the best of their abilities; they will be able to start day one at university, acclimatised to academic life once more.
